Ariens Alpine Professional (28") RapidTrak 420cc EFI Hydrostatic Two-Stage Snow Blower 926091

I ought this to replace a 24-inch wheeled Ariens Platinum blower because the wheels just couldn't go through the big snowbank at the end of our driveway. It tended to go over the bank rather than through it. This tracked model is heavier but still not too hard to turn. I had to assemble it myself which wasn't bad but it came on a pallet and took a fork lift to get it off the truck. I haven't had the really deep snow yet but so far it works well. The electric starting and power chute director are great. I do have to adjust the elevation control of the chute because it does not go high enough. Also the control is wired backwards. All together I'm satisfied.

I'm on my second season of use for my snowblower here in Alaska. So far the machine has operated without issue. Overal this machine has met my expectations. I needed a macine that would move large amounts of snow and it does that. The EFI features seem to be fine IE, starting in all temps along sustained battery performance, I have charged the battery just once. The selection process for different traction modes can be trickey but not a big problem, just a learning curve. In the full traction mode the machine has incredable power. I'm 77 years old and so far I'm able to manage the machine. If you are older or not in good physical condition this may not be the machine for you.
