The vitamins contained in NEKTON-Drosophila contribute to the development of healthy, high-quality, and larger fruit flies. The size and activity of these flies enhances the perception of them by reptiles during feeding. The ideal room temperature for breeding is approximately 22-25 °C (71.6-77 °F). Fruit fly egg deposition ceases at higher temperatures. Depending on the species or breed, the fruit fly (drosophila) can grow up to 3.5 cm long and approximately 1 mm thick. The male fruit fly has a black end segment, while the female has a brown end segment. After hatching from the white eggs, which are approximately 0.55 mm long and 0.2 mm wide, maggots of a similar size emerge and grow to around 5 mm long after three molts. How to use: Breeding with NEKTON-Drosophila concentrate doesn't require much effort. It can be prepared without cooking. Mix or stir 1 part NEKTON-Drosophila concentrate with 1.5 - 2 parts warm water (22-25 °C 71.6-77 °F), and the fruit fly media is ready. Then add the media to a sealed, ventilated container. To the same container add excelsior or coffee filters, and seed with flightless-flies from an existing culture. It couldn't be easier! Adding a few drops of vinegar (fruit vinegar) can accelerate the breeding process. The thickness of the paste can be adjusted by adding water. The prepared paste will eventually liquefy and provide optimal living conditions for the maggots.
