Dollar store one is better quality
This thing is a nightmare and a waste of money. Had to stop in the middle of making dinner to run out and buy a new one because it stopped working. It barely worked prior to it finally breaking.

My handle says Farberware...
I bought this about 4 months ago, and its terrible, It looks just like the one by ekco, dont know if its the same one, looks just like it. Mine says farberware. Dont know if they just changed the name. Anyway, it stops working at about 4 months, spend the extra $5 and get something better. I have to go now back to walmart and get something else. My can looks like it was opened with a scissor.

does not open cans
I bought this and it worked ok for a few days. Can opener opens parts of cans and won't cut the rest, leaving you with a can you cannot open, but that has been punctured and has to be opened another way (like going out to buy a new can opener and using the new one) or tossed. A waste of money, even if it was on the cheap side.
