The heating and fan are phenomenal. Once you tap it to over 80 it's hot and 95 it's almost too much ( though IDK if it actually is that hot, but it certainly worked so well I'd look at the thermostat in my hallway and it'd be around 78. I haven't used the remote yet, so I can't really say much about that. It will stop working if it falls. Great safety feature. Assembly is pretty easy. And the fireplace, let's talk about that for a moment. It's a pleasant light and you can change it many colors... The best I can say it's a great nightlight. I wish if flickered a bit like.a.real fireplace. As it is though, it's a comforting rock / log pile

I gave this as a gift. They were very pleased with it once they learned what levels worked best for them. The light that looks light a fire burning in a fire place was an added bonus. Having a remote to operate it made it easier to use as they are able to use it under a desk without having to climb under there to operate it. Nice product.
