Im 67 years old and female I put two of these together myself a couple of times I was challenged but when i figured out one side you slip in the grooves from the top and the otherside you have to lift it up and slide in from the bottom but not too difficult I was really surprised at the quality of this couch and it is very sturdy and comfortable and you can machine wash all the covers plus it has head rests for neck support, it supports the hips and its wide enough to accommodate a larger size person and it doesnt sit to low to the ground I purchased two and recommended these to all my family for this price you cant go wrong
