Adapter kit can be an issue

Adapter kit can be an issue. My generator, the Predator 9000 has framing that is too hard for the supplied hardware to use. The sheet metal screws strip out and are damaged without any thread engagement. I tried to drill through the frame for a thru-hole alternative, but my drill bits could not penetrate the opposite side of the framing member. My options at this point are to tap the hole and change hardware to less coarse thread pitch, or retry thru-hole drilling with a carbide or diamond bit. One tip not mentioned in the installation video is to zip-tie the adapters in place until the fasteners are installed. Consequently, I cannot comment any further about the product until I complete the installation process. I hope this helps others that share the same struggle and frustration.

It Passed the Test

I live in southeast Texas and we see many storms that like to kill our power. This year I'm ready with a new generator and weather protection. Because my power goes out when it's raining, I purchased a GenTent cover that was made for my particular generator. To test it out, I brought it out of the garage and started it and hooked its up in a heavy rain storm. The GenTent did a fine job of protecting my equipment. I particularly like the gas fill door on the top. I highly recommend this weather cover to anyone that doesn't have a covered patio or carport to protect their generator from the elements.

I bought the Black Cover Kit for my DS13000MX generator because I live in the Tehachapi Mountains in California at 5,430ft and was concerned about the winter season winds, rain, and heavy snow for which I would have to use the generator when our electricity is shut off. It was easy following the instructions to set the cover on the generator. Our winter has been fairly mild and the electricity has not been shut off yet.
