Just lather it up and let it sit undisturbed for 24 hours, after that rinse it clean with water. Repeat this about 5 days and the stink will go away. The brush does a nice job considering how small it is. I used it about 20 times before the bulb of hair fell out of the plastic handle. I just gorilla glued it and it was fine. You'll get a better lather from a tub of standard AoS shaving cream, but this stuff still does a much better job than any standard shaving product you can get at your neighborhood discount store.
