Counted to five to let it sink down toward the bottom. Started a steady retrieve, flipping the rod tip up every few seconds to make the metal flutter and flash under the surface. Halfway back, the line went tight and the rod bent down. Pulled back to set the hook. Wrestled a rainbow trout to the shore and scooped it up. The treble hook held tight without bending. Unhooked the fish and noticed the finish did not scratch against the rocks. Placed it back into the tray for the next trip.
