My previous computer was a gaming laptop- an Acer Nitro 5 Intel i7 RTX 3050Ti with 16gb DDR4 and half a terabyte of SSD (144Hz) that I bought in 2022. As you can imagine this was a pretty solid upgrade. I'm not going to lie I was a bit worried about shipping- I haven't purchased a desktop (tower) for nearly 15 years so having one delivered to my door had me nervous. Shipping was perfect though- the tower was packaged tightly/securely, the glass was surrounded on the inside and outside of the tower. 0 issues. Setup took 20 minutes, but that's because my tower got tucked away under my desk in a very tight corner. If my desk setup wasn't in a corner it could've been done in 10 minutes. It came with some extra corns that meant nothing to me- so I put them in the IDFK drawer in the kitchen. Walmart/iBUYPOWER wasn't very descriptive on the number of USB/DP/HDMI/3.5mm/USB-C ports in the ad so I was kind of crossing my fingers. There are as much as you would expect on a gaming desktop (a lot). I have 4 USB outlets used (mouse, keyboard, external SSD and speaker). Several of the available USB outlets are VERY fast with data transfer which is awesome for the external SSD. Sounds dumb but having multiple Display port/HDMI outlets was great too. My laptop had one of each so I had to get an adapter which takes away from display quality on one of the screens. Having built in Wifi adapter probably isn't new technology, but was new to me. The last time I bought a desktop I had a USB adapter (which was very limited on speed). Zero limits with this desktop. I have 1.2gbps broadband plan and get closer to 1.4gbps speed (low upload though obviously). First games I played were ones that my last laptop had trouble keeping up with: Red Dead 2, Jedi Survivor, Witcher 3 (max graphics), Fortnite (finally normal FPS) etc. No issues with any of them (or if theyre were issues they were well-known game issues the developer wouldn't fix....but I'm not salty). I wasn't planning on using the provided keyboard/mouse. I have Logitech MX Keys/Mouse combo that I absolutely love. New desktop though...might as well try the new keyboard/mouse right? Turns out I like the included ones better. I game most of the time on my computer so it makes sense to have a corded/gaming mouse/keyboard, but I just never made the connection until now. If I ever have to work remote maybe that'll change but for now the included RGB keyboard/mouse are great. Just need a bit of cord management help with all of the extra wires from keyboard/mouse/speaker/monitors/external etc. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase. This computer is fast, quiet and well-built. Fans are more than sufficient- I've yet to see the temp exceed 52C.
