Fit and Fresh One Cup Chill Container - 1 Container

I have these cups and I do like them. It's very useful to have the little ice pack fit right underneath the lid. The lid and cup are top rack dishwasher safe and I have washed them that way at least twice so far. The ice pack itself is hand wash only. The ice pack does stay cool for several hours...best if kept in an insulated lunch bag. Negatives you may want to know before buying them yourself. They are NOT leak proof...so a liquid or juicy item will make a mess unless always kept upright. Maybe not a good choice for children who will not be so careful to always keep their lunch bag upright...unless using for grapes, carrot sticks and such foods to keep chilled but not for a drippy food. With the ice pack installed in the lid there is no extra space between the one cup mark and the ice pack if you are planning to fill with a full cup of food. There is another style designed for children that has a slightly taller lid that makes room for the ice pack within the lid instead of hanging down from the lid as this style does. These lids have small tabs and are sometimes tough to get off the container...and when snapping the lids on need to make sure they are snapped well all the way around. The design for children has larger tabs and is easier to get on and off the container. There is a learning curve to getting the ice pack off the lid. There is a small "hole" in the center of the ice pack. One thumb goes in the hole and pulls down while the other thumb pushes on the "top" tab holding the ice pack on...when that tab releases the ice pack then it can be removed from the lid. When putting the ice pack on the lid...put the pack in the "bottom" ice pack tab (containers/lids are oval) then push the ice pack into the "top" ice pack tab. I have found it's easier to start with bottom then top...instead of top then bottom. The set comes with only two ice packs. The other two containers if using all four for a meal will not have any ice packs...so will only be useful for foods that are not to be kept chilled. I have looked at the manufacturer's site for replacement/extra ice packs and the size needed for this set is not available. Importantly...a big negative...the price here on this site is way over-priced...it's even more than the manufacturer's own site. And the shipping is more too.
