Dorman Shifter Bushing

Loss of 3rd and 4th gear on Toyota Supra.Followed up on hint that the bushing under the shifter may be bad.Removed gear shift and found a grainy substance covering the shift arm and a rubber bushing at the bottom of the hole. Cleaned all the grainy compound out and reassembed. Tested by driving car and pulling up on shifter when changing gears. All gears worked great. Purchased Toyota Celica Dorman Shifter Bushing Kit - Upper Dorman W0133-2074058, installed and test drove again. All gears worked great. Part was exact fit, easy to install after gear shift removal, comes as a plastic riser cup with rubber washer underside.

Great service and efficiency.

My 1991 Toyota 4runner 5 speed had a very loose stick shift. It played about 2-3 inches to each side. After 541,000 miles I figured it was time to put new shifter bushings in.
