IRWIN 6950 - 14 mm-1.50 Hanson Metric HCS Solid Hexagon Die

I bought this die to cut 1" of threads on the ends of a stainless rod. After ~1/2" on the first end, the die is so damaged, it no longer cuts. I've used taps & dies before, and lube was used. I wouldn't have bought HCS for a SS project (there was no mention of HCS on the retail package).

This product, #9444 Hex Die, was purchased for chasing and repairing threaded rod. It was non-functional right out of the package. The cutting surfaces have rolled over burrs rendering it useless. General overall appearance shows signs of poor craftsmanship.
