I thought this came backlit unfortunately the back light does not stay on therefore it is very hard to read the clock. I wish there was some way to make the backlighting to stay on. so I would not purchase this unless you're gonna use it in your bedroom and you wanna hit the light on every time you want to see the information on the clock
