This can never compare to fresh cream but sometimes you don't have that on hand or you have no refrigeration. I used a can to make some rice pudding - it was so thick I needed to add some milk. My last can was consumed 6 months past the due by date, it had yellowed a bit but it did the job. Please recycle the can.

The best thing about this is it's shelf stable with all the benefits of the Heavy Cream you get in the Refrigerator Isle. I use this for Casseroles and Soups. After the supply problems with the 78 Blizzard it is important to me to find good products at good prices that are shelf stable. This is one of those items. I consider this a must have pantry item.

One can for many uses

This is a great addition to any cream sauce. Add it to mac and cheese, in place of half of the milk and you get extra creamy mac and cheese. Cream of chicken anyone? Instead of using all milk, split the amount with this and get oohs and aahs from around the table. For that little extra in pancakes, use this. Yum! If you want a little different curry chicken, add a can of this to the pot. What you get is a nice smooth slightly thicker curry sauce. Do you like chocolate pudding? In the standard recipe two cups of milk are called for. Use this instead of one cup of milk. The result is amazing. Here I assume you are making the pudding from scratch and cooking it on the stove. The product is shelf stable so no worries about storing it in the fridge or an unopened can going bad. The best part? It is less expensive than the little carton out of the dairy department.
