I have kids and pets and I didn't want to ruin my desk so I ordered this. It was easy to install as I just had to stick it on. I love that it's clear so that the design of my desk can still be shown. The 12x28 size does not cover the whole table (like a 6-person dining table) but instead covers one place setting—similar to a large placemat. For me, that's perfect since my little one is very messy with food, toys, and colors, and I only needed protection in his spot. Because it's transparent, it doesn't look odd with the rest of the table uncovered. Tip: If you need full coverage for a larger table, you'll want a bigger size, but if you just need protection for one kid's space, this is a great choice.
