4 steps to making your own work of art!

1. Positioning bottle

The bottle is placed lengthwise on the cutter with the bottom flush with the stopper and against the rollers. The position of the stopper and rear roller determines where you cut the bottle.

To adjust the length, loosen the screw and slide the stop and roller forward for shorter cuts and backward for longer cuts.

2. Etched glass

light etching is required. Apply light pressure to the bottle while swirling the bottle towards you by hand. To ensure accurate cuts, hold the bottle firmly against the stop.

Do not let the bottle stop turning while scoring the . A slight crunching sound will indicate that etching is complete. One spin of the bottle is all it takes.

3. Bottle splitting

Soak the bottle in boiling water (must be below the score line), and slowly rotate the bottle in for one to two minutes.

Then do a quick soak in cold water while swirling for a minute or two. You may hear a "click" that indicates the etchant is breaking and you can separate the bottles.

Sometimes, depending on the thickness of the glass, the steps of soaking in boiling water and cold water need to be repeated several times.

4. Smooth edges

To prevent chipping, lightly wipe inside and outside edges with polishing paper. After a short time, the edges of the glass will become very flat and have a dull gray appearance.
