Of course in 2025, it is almost impossible to get or find a new and updated laptop with a CD Disk drive built in so I was very happy about this purchase. I am have some old modeling photos that are on CD that I would love to show my friends and download to add to my IG and this was super helpful. Aside from the CD Drive, it also has a slot for SD memory cards , which I used as well from my old digital cameras. It was very simple and easy to use. The read speed was pretty god. I also was able to watch some movies and my brother played games with it. This was all using my Macbook. It is essentially a plug and play.

Good price and quick delivery of a nice little external drive. Recognized immediately on the two Linux Mint laptops I plugged it into with the attached USB-3 connector. Haven't tried the burner function yet but I do not foresee any difficulty. If it requires additional power I will connect the supplied supplemental power cable. There was no software included, nor was any necessary -- I mention that since there was a rating question for software that did not include a choice for "n/a".
