E316L-16 stainless steel electrodes are designed for welding 18% Cr-12% Ni-Mo stainless steel (AISI 316) and dissimilar steels. Their lime titania coating ensures stable arc performance and smooth weld beads, making them especially suitable for flat and horizontal fillet welding. These electrodes offer excellent resistance to corrosion from sulfurous acid, phosphoric acid, and acetic acid, making them ideal for industries requiring superior chemical resistance. The deposited weld metal maintains high strength and durability, while the low carbon content minimizes the risk of carbide precipitation and intergranular corrosion. They are compatible with both AC and DC(+) power sources for flexible welding applications. To maintain optimal performance, electrodes should be redried at 250-350°C for 30-60 minutes before use.
