Pyle 17" Flip-Down DVD/SD/USB Player, PLRD175IF

When purchasing this product, I had very high hopes. I have had Pyle amplifiers and crossovers and were blown away by the quality of their equipment in the past. Then I get this thing, which makes me believe some foreign country built it (due to the typos on the "remote control" as well as in the manual) and Pyle slapped a sticker on it, unknowingly tainting their name with this product. Pros are the size, IR transmitter and the cool LED lighting it provides is a nice perk. That is all that I can think of. Here come the cons. The FM transmitter is barely powerful enough to eliminate natural static in the radio of our vehicle. When watching DVDs, there is no volume control available. You can see it as a menu option but for some reason it is grayed out. We have to turn the volume "completely" up on the vehicle stereo to be able to hear the video. So we purchased IR headphones. They have to be turned up completely to hear the player also, but they dampen road noise so it's a little better. The owners manual lacks significant information about all of the options (or lack thereof) this player provides. I had to do my own research to find out what all of the acronyms presented in the manual actually meant. I fully intend on contacting PYLE to find out if there is any way to unlock the volume control ability (as it shows in the grayed out area that it is up to 50% volume power and I cannot raise or lower it). Perhaps I will be able to make an update to this update.
