HAND WASH ONLY to avoid the “black stuff”

I'm leaving a review so I can address other people's reviews complaining about the “black stuff” that comes off their metal whip attachment. DO NOT wash the metal attachments in the dishwasher. The metal will oxidize and you will never be able to restore it to its original finish. Learned this the hard way. If you hand wash the attachment, you won't get the oxidation (black stuff).

Was excellent- beaters broke easy -Black on food

I have had my mixer probably 8 years....loved it but the whip breaks easily and it's hard to find replacements as they cost a small fortune. Now having black on all my food. I have the professional 6 lift I have had to buy four whips recently too :(

Hi Gramma3, Thank you for providing feedback on your wire whip. We are sorry to learn of your experiences. The wire whips are not dishwasher safe, they require hand washing and drying immediately after use. The wire whips are to be used for whipping egg whites, making whipped cream and frostings. Please contact KitchenAid at 1-800-541-6390 for further assistance.

Starts out great but replacing this whip every month or so

I am a licensed home baker so my whip is used often...normally not very hard. I am finding that the quality of the replacement whips are not like they used to be. I had the original whip for 10 years...now within the past 6 months I am having to replace them monthly as they break. Poor quality
