Borderlands Game of the Year Edition (Xbox 360)

Here is a game anyone can sink their teeth into. Simple, fast-paced, and tons of fun. It's a slow walk down insanity lane. The humor is dark, but witty and at times hilarious. The graphics are simple; nearly cartoon-ish, but in near 3-D that gives them a unique perspective and allows the game to flow freely with very few glitches found in games with super-graphics. If you like first shooter games there is no end to ambushes, battles, and fire-fights. Some are predictable and you know where they are going to happen while others are random and fast spawning. You will face down hordes of quad-faced-hog-like "SKAGS" whose heads open like an orchid filled with razor teeth and a whip-like tongue capable of lacerating your character and inflicting damage as well as massive "Star Trooper - like" insects and flying lizard-like "Rakes". I get the impression the game borrows from several movies and changes the the similarities just enough to not infringe upon copyright claims, but not so much you don't know where the idea came from - such as a battle with Mad Mel and his souped up desert buggy death machine...lol. And did I mention all the insane inhabitants on planet Pandora? Most who were criminals brought as slave labor to work the mines then abandoned by the corporation after they ceased mining operations and left of fend for themselves in true cannibalistic spirit? In fact, I think the only sane person on the planet might the character you are playing (in my case Roland) and after about 20 hours of game play and no near end in sight --- yet -- I am beginning to wonder if he might not be insane too - or is is just me?...lol You want to occupy yourself or the kids for days? This game will do it for around 20 bucks at Walmart. Inexpensive and still worth the original issue price of $59.00 even a year after its release. The best part is after you complete it once there are 4 other characters you can assume with 4 other sets of adventures and outcomes. You can spend a few months on this one game alone and if you have friends - you can all play it on line through a private match or game together which adds even more action and bad guys into the fray while you collect better and bigger weapons and get rich along the way. Even my 5 year old gets on line and plays with Dad (yeah, he has his own Xbox and live account as well a big-screen TV...yeah...he and his brother are spoiled. Wife's fault too!...lol) 5 STARS PEOPLE ... and I am a game critic you can believe.
