It was cheap, like 11.00. I haven't installed it yet. But I wasn't gonna pay 60.00 for two. SO I got one for 11.00 and one for 9.00 or 10.00. I like that we never have to replace the battery.

It works well and it's loud!

Not having to change the batteries every six months is amazing now when the battery wears out in 10 years, I will toss and buy a new Smoke alarm! The alarm is very loud so I don't have to worry about not hearing it and it doesn't go off every five minutes only if it detects smoke and I did test it with fake smoke. It WORKS!!!
