K&N Cold Air Intake Kit: High Performance, Guaranteed to Increase Horsepower: 2014-2015 Chevy Cruze, 2.0L L4 Diesel, 69-4531TTK

Great intake system as far as performance, seems to have woken up the car's responsiveness. Aside from a purely performance standpoint, this intake is extremely noisy inside the cabin of the car; I expected some increase in intake noise which is to be expected, but I was no expecting the level of noise it produces. Unless you like that kind of sound, you will probably find the sound produced by this kit to be quite annoying, I wish there had been a warning or note about how loud the intake is. Also, fitment of the system was not perfect. I had sort of come to expect that from intakes 15 to 20 years ago, but a lot has changed and improved since then. Most kits that I have used in the past 5 or 6 years have been near perfect in fit; this one however, left room for improvement. Tightening down the bolt that secures the heat shied bracket to the motor mount had to be done before installing the heat shield and intake components, which made it near impossible to perfectly position the heat shield bracket on the motor mount bolt ahead of time. The aluminum intake tube could stand to be a few mm's longer on the turbo end; the entire system felt like it had to be stretched for the MAF to fit thru the heat shield for the filter to be attached. Lastly, the edge trim provided for the heat shield was about an inch or so short, even with cutting for the sharp bends to save material, there wasn't enough. Come on, K&N, you can do better than this. I have seen much better fit and finish on your products that were far more complicated in design as well as installation. This is one of the smallest kits I have done, very few parts, this should have been designed better.
