I bought this for use in a round bird bath. It does float so it will move around if the wind blows or if the bird bath is not level. If it gets too close to the edge it can spray water outside the bird bath and spray all the water out, which it's done. but has not hurt the pump. The multiple heads on the sprinkler are removable, so you can set the height of the water by the number of openings and take it off to clean out anything that stops up one of the holes. This is a great deal for the price and I recommend it highly.

This fountain pump isn't terrible. It's just tiny, like Temu tiny. I take responsibility for not reading the description more closely. It's perfect in every way for a bird bath. It's not at all suitable for a swimming pool. Now I get to shop for a bird bath.
