There thin enough for layering, but thick enough to keep you warm. And are made with Moisture Wicking Technology, which means that, any excess moisture will quickly be absorbed, keeping you dry. The ankle cuffs are ribbed to help stay in place, they have flatlock seams, a covered elastic waistband, and a tag-free label. The set I received was too big for me, but it was the only size available, I wore them anyway and pinned them to my clothing, so I could give an honest review. I thought they were warm enough, and cozy under my long skirt, of course they would have been more comfortable if they were smaller sized, but that has nothing to do with the leggings them self. I liked them so much I'm gonna give these to a friend that can better wear them, then I'm gonna order a set for myself.
