Good costume for a great price

The costume is what I expected and a little more. It is as shown in the pictures and, for the money, is s great deal. I bought the XL, which must mean extra long. I'm sure it would fit someone who is 6'6".

Both good and not so good

I was a litttle disappointed with the paint job on the armour. It is a bit sloppy. However, I only need the costume for a surprize 15 minute visit from Darth Vader at a birthday party. It will work fine for a quick Darth Vader illusion. If you look closely, however, you will see the minor paint flaws. For the price, I really couldnt ask for more. I would recommend.

Good enough to fool our 4-year-old

My wife planned a Star Wars birthday party for our son's fourth birthday, and she wanted me to make an appearance as Darth Vader. She ordered this costume; I had my doubts about how good it would look in person, and (despite her objections) purchased a more expensive helmet to go with it. We were both glad I did, because the helmet that comes with this costume is only the front half with an elastic strap on the back; the back of your head is exposed just like with one of those cheap plastic Halloween masks. The rubber "boxes" and buckle on the belt were askew, so I glued some chipboard behind them to firm them up. On close inspection the paint appears to have been hurriedly slapped on, but that was no surprise. The fabric is a thin polyester, which allowed air in (nice in the heat). I detached the shin plates from the legs and attached them to the engineer boots I wore, which was another quick and inexpensive upgrade. No gloves are included; I wore some motorcycle gauntlets. The overall effect was great. My son was amazed and a little scared that Darth Vader had come to his party (along with Captain Rex and Princess Leia), and even after I showed him who I was under the mask, he was still hesitant to stand near me and kept a wary eye on me at all times. Final verdict: If you just want something adult-sized that doesn't cost a fortune, this Vader costume will work for you. Otherwise, prepare to spend upwards of $600...
