The cord is effective at keeping the water in my sand well pump from freezing, making it possible to water my farm animals. Had one already on the pipe, but didn't know that when the kitchen was redone the plumber took it off and didn't replace it. My home is from the ‘20s and yes I have that one pipe that just loves to give me a headache but not with this it really works. During the summer I just unplug it till winter again.
