Definitely universal. I have tested this across all the phones we have in my household (Alcatel, Realme, Samsung) and this has not had an issue connecting with any of them. This is such a valuable feature because a lot of remote shutters will have issues connecting with lesser known phone brands or out-of-date versions of the phone's OS. The reality is not everyone has an up-to-date phone or prominent brand, it's important to make products that work with those phones as well, and this definitely does! My only issue is that sometimes the shutter will momentarily disconnect after 5-6 shots, or will register as a different type of shot than intended (burst, panorama, motion, etc.). 8/10 times no issue though. I was going to take a star off for that, but you know..this shutter also works for starting and stopping video. For the price (which is $4.88 not on sale by the way, in case they raise the price later), the features are unbeatable. I'm giving it 5 stars!! WalMart please stock more of this!!
