Perfect height for a small dog

My dog (a Coton de Tulear) stands 9 - 10 inches high at the shoulder. This feeder is the perfect height for her without making her bend over to eat. The wooden "decorative" inserts are a waste of time. They slide down, they're not that decorative, and the feeder is perfectly stable without them. It's also much easier to wash the whole feeder without the inserts. I removed them and it works great.

Have a 19 year old cat who had choking problems eating from a floor level plate. Now that the feeding area has been raised 4", he no longer chokes and now swallows in a normal fashion. I am well pleased with this Feeder.
