WBT (Germany) sells (for $140, not a misprint) a gold plated version of this crimper for use in crimping their copper/ gold plated stereo wire crimps. This crimper can "cold weld" the stereo wire and the crimp together into one mass and thus produce a better connection and better sound. It is true (not just an audiophile's fantasy). No need to solder wire together when this tool can cold weld them together. This same cold weld process is used by high end audio cable makers. It replaces soldering.
