Our parakeet uses this product to get his daily grit. We tried other products and he ignored them. This one is apparently acceptable. The item is used by our bird to keep his beak from hooking and also to keep his talons in order. I am not a bird but the taste or flavor must be good as he attacks as soon as we apply to the perch rod.
