This master thesis describes a future story. High ranked prison policy makers and experts share their idea's on how they preceive of the future of imprisonment in ten years and how their hope to influence existing policies. They address the future use of prison and other measures, prison population and overcrowding, prison conditions and changes in the characteristics of prisoners. The main point of interest to the author is wether expert advice in policy making is still valued or if recently populism has gained impact on the proces.
