Even Better

I fell in love with the Lone Peak 4.0 which was the first comfortable walking and trail shoe I had worn in decades. I didn't think it could be improved upon, but that's what happened with the 4.5. With slightly more arch and laces that stay put (no more double tying!) these are perfect.

Savior of my feet

I used to endure hiking so that I could get views, solitude, and nature. I've lost every toenail at least 3 times, and tried everything from moleskin to tree sap to stop my nasty, painful blisters. This is my 5th pair of Altra Lone Peak trail runners. I have worn each pair for hundreds of miles and until they were falling apart. Ever since switching from boots and other trail shoes to the lone peaks, I now also enjoy the hike. I still kick a rock or forget to trim my toenails sometimes, but losing my toenails isn't normal to me anymore (thankfully) and I rarely get a blister even after 80 miles and rocky climbs. They keep improving, and I'm so glad they fixed the toe cap issue (they used to separate after the first 40 or so miles) and I love the new fabrics, they are a lot more durable. I just put my first miles on these after a busy Summer put an end to my last pair.

Love them

At the suggestion of an osteopath, I bought these for work. I am a doctor in a hospital and walk many miles/day. I have dropped metatarsal heads and as I get older I feel my feet changing. I have been wearing danskos since my career began but I don't feel good support from them as they're loose and was wondering what else to wear. Walking in these feels like walking on a cloud. There is lots of toe room, and I love the zero rise. I feel a gentle stretch of my calf w every step and since it's anatomically correct, this is as it should be. I love these shoes.
