Very practical and reliable. Any type of light can be used: LED, CFL, even incandescent. Device keeps accurate time (doesn't run fast) and astronomic feature (which is optional) automatically adjusts ON/OFF settings (once every week) so it's synchronized with the changing seasons. This is the third timer that I've added to the lights around my home. I have them set to come on at sunset and off at 11:00 pm. I think this will do what I need it to do - I'm still working on trying to set it. I think the instructions are too complicated and should be reworked so it's easier to figure out what to do.
