Lexar LNM620X512G-RNNNU NM620 M.2 2280 PCIe Gen3x4 NVMe Solid-State Drive (512 GB)

This is an excellent NVME M.2 SSD. I had never heard of Lexar before but then again, I had never heard of Hynix, the drive it's replacing either. I put this in my HP Pavillion gaming laptop. The Hynix was only 256gb, so I was in need of more, especially with games like MS Flight Simulator taking a lot of space. Install was fairly easy. Getting the back off the laptop was the hardest thing. Once open, it's basically take one out, put one it. No more difficult than adding ram. This doesn't come with any cloning software, so you need to find your own. I made a system image of my previous drive using Windows create/restore image feature. This worked but it only showed 256gb. In disk manager it showed up as 1tb. For some reason Windows wouldn't let me extend the drive to the full 1tb. I did try some 3rd party software, and this worked except it didn't show the 650mb recovery drive as a recovery drive. I decided to play it safe and just do a fresh install of Windows 11 since I had my files all backed up. I've done it many times before so no big deal. This drive is super-fast. It's 50 percent faster than the Hynix. My motherboard is gen3 so you can see my Crystal diskmark scores. Should be twice as fast on a gen4. This is TLC and not dram-less. To tell you the truth I don't think I could tell the difference. All in all. Completely satisfied.
