I don't keep up with new items, but my son try has the old flat grater. I don't care for them so I decided to buy him a box grater. I picked out a cheaper grater and there was a Substitution was more expensive so I said ok I'll buy it. Well, to my surprise I really like it. It has a small grate and a large grate, no slicer, you can insert a plastic cup like thing into the grater and it holds what you ‘re grating. Inside and also shows the amount. The grater has teeth that grates back and forth. So no wasted motion. You can lay it on it's side and it has like rubber inserts that keep it from sliding. The plastic container is heavy duty, It works for cheese, garlic , Carrots most things you would want to grate. I want one now . I think you would like it, too.
