This study is not intended to solve the corrosion problems that occur in the oil industry, but serve as a guide to promote knowledge about these corrosive phenomena, their consequences and some forms of mitigation, mainly through the selection of materials. Therefore, the study is presented in theoretical form, based on previous experiences and bibliographical consultations.
