I ordered two of these. One of them came with an incredibly sharp point in the metal section that could easily cut a hand. I had to cover it with duct tape so I don't have to worry about it. Then I think the black grips are really rough and hurt my hands. I don't think these are so heavy to need gloves but the feel of them makes me wear gloves. I bought these because of the price and good ratings. If you are used to the neoprene style stick with those. I should have just returned these!
