Barbie Doll With 2 Surprise Career Looks Featuring 8 Surprises

I thought that this doll was a great choice for my two boys' first Barbie. I've been trying to help my boys see past traditional female gender roles as they grow, so this Barbie acts as a great learning resource and point of conversation for gender roles and identity with them. This particular Barbie has accessories for being a miner and a dog groomer. These two careers options resonated with my two boys with one who is very much into pets right now and the other who is more interested in the outdoors. There's not much to the set which for us is a plus. Fewer pieces mean less that gets lost or sucked up by the vacuum. My complaints are few and far from critical. The barbie came with no hair accessories whatsoever. My boys didn't have anything to brush or tie up the Barbie's hair with since they've never had a prior doll. I'm sure this is not the case for most other families. The clothing of this Barbie was not entirely appropriate for her careers I thought. She comes with a jumper and skirt which is not something that I'd think was safe or practical for mining. That's just my observation though and my kids don't notice in the least. Honestly, this is a greater starter Barbie for us since she has the two options in clothes and accessories. I will be buying more Barbies for my kids this Holiday season.
