Sprats are Sardines, both are from Herring family.

These Sardines are really Sprats from the Baltic or North Sea waters through Poland, which, to my taste, are a bit milder in flavor than the Sardines from the more southern waters of the Atlantic and processed through Morocco. Part of the taste difference may have to do with these Bumble Bee Sardines being packed in Soybean oil as opposed to olive oils used in packing the Sea Castle brand which I usually buy, in the Kosher section of the ethnic aisle section. The Bumble Bee brand Sprats ($2.28, 2-pack) are half the price of the Sea Castle brand Sardines ($2.42). The Bumble Bee is slightly less weight at 3.75 ounces where as the Sea Castle is 4.375. ( has to double check the weights.)

it's starting for delicious. I ate it with crackers and some plane. I also wanted it because of the protein and the benefits of the Omega-3. I made small sandwiches with Saltine crackers from Walmart. I will purchase this item again and I have shared this info with a few friends. Bumblebee sardines are really tasty.

Gluten free and protein sources

I love these sardines! They're packed in just the right amount of oil, not too salty, and have great flavor. Perfect on crackers or in a salad. Plus, they're gluten free and a great source of protein. Always a staple in my pantry!
