McCormick Slow Cooker Hearty Beef Stew Seasoning Mix, 1.5 oz Packet

The slow cooker seasoning mix was easy to use and delicious. Before I started, I sprayed the inside of the crock to help with cleanup. Then, I followed the recipe on the back of the seasoning packet and mixed 2 pounds stew meat, onion, potatoes, and carrots and put them in the crock. Next I mixed the dry seasoning mix with water and poured it over the meat and vegetables. The instructions stated that the stew should cook 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low. I chose to cook it on high. After about 2 hours, I stirred the mixture. The seasoning was beginning to thicken at this this point. At the end of 4 hours, the seasoning had become a light gravy and all the meat and vegetables were tender. I did not add any other seasonings or salt to the stew. The stew needed a little more salt than the seasoning provided. I was glad that it was not too salty. I would rather add salt to my taste rather than have a seasoning packet that is too salty. The gravy cooked onto the crock and hardened in a few places, but was easy to remove. Overall, I find this seasoning to be tasty and a good choice for beef stew, especially if you are looking for a break from the mushroom soup version of stew. The salt level was not too much and the consistency was a light gravy. I recommend this product and will use it again in the future.
