SURPRISINGLY pretty good. Our circle of friends and family makes, buys and consumes MANY tamales. Made and served many different ways. Some great, some not so much...LOL. Making tamales is WORK. As we age we tend to look for "short cuts". This year we have BOUGHT more than we have made, and like I said, quality varies greatly. We NEVER even knew one could BUY tamales in a CAN....and beef???? We actually tried them as a JOKE, but found them to be OK. Since they are shelf stable, we now keep them on the shelf for quick meals.

Although, I would prefer to make my own Tamales, the HORMEL Beef Tamales in Chili Sauce HIT THE SPOT!! The texture of the masa is really good. The flavor of the masa is very delicious. The beef filling goes very well with the masa and the sauce. The tamales come wrapped in food grade paper instead of corn husks, they are filled with sauce. You will want to squeeze that sauce off the paper. There is a lot of sauce in the can. The large can holds 8 yummy, and delicious tamales. You can warm them in a pan or put them on a plate and microwave them as well. Top it off with shredded cheese, sauce, sour cream, serve with any yummy side you love. Enjoy your tamales.
