My family loves the Mexicali Casserole I have made since the kids were middle school age. It was always made with this brand of tamales, but beef. My baby is 68 years old now and still gets excited when it's on the menu for supper, but tries to eat less beef/red meat. When ordering groceries from Walmart I can across the chicken variety and we loved it. I bag all the ingredients together in the pantry for Mexicali together which makes this pantry dinner super easy to put together. Now it is all I use for this recipe, or even just as tamales with other Mexican items.

We used to buy these all the time but the local Walmart no longer carries it These are good for a quick side to tacos. We like that they are low fat, they are spicy and the texture is decent for being canned. I believe the last can we opened had 6 tamales in it
