Over 30 years ago, Etymotic invented noise-isolating, in-ear earphones. Etymotic’s original design, developed for auditory research and hearing testing, used balanced armature receivers and established these speakers as the gold standard for high-definition, in-ear earphones. ER4 earphones were the first high-fidelity, noise isolating in-ear earphones to use this technology in a consumer earphone, and are recognized as the world leader for response accuracy to which all other earphones are compared.

I bought these earphones to replace my ER3SE's that I lost. I loved my 3's, so I figured I'd upgrade. Praise for my 3's, I had them for years. Many miles on the motorcycle, lawns mowed, kids ignored!! I have only had my ER4XR's for about a week. They're amazing. Once you get the positioning and fit figured out, they fill your skull with great sound! I'm so happy to have my earphones back! On a funny side note, the day the 4's were delivered, I found my 3's. Great success!!

Perfectly balanced accurate sound
This was my 3rd set of ER4s. First set was eaten by my dog in 2011. 2nd set was in constant use until 2020 at which point one side wore out. Rather than get them repaired I treated myself to the latest ER4XR set with a generous Etymotic upgrade deal. I am pleased with the overall balanced sound which is perfect, but the extended bass is just what they needed. Not too much bass to disturb the balanced sound, but enough to bring modern music alive. These are still my reference headphones and I would strongly recommend getting custom molds made to ensure that you have a perfect fit. An extra 100 well worth spending.

Very very good eartips
I tried almost everything in eartips, spinfit spiral dot, symbios, none was good for my earsonic purple headphones. With etymotic eartips pure pleasure for the ears. I finally found the brand for my eartips now. A more than satisfied customer.
