How do I choose the right brake cable?

If you have a standard bicycle, such as an MTB or a road bike, cables for these are interchangeable and the most widely available. So you can buy a "standard" cable.

What if the brake cable I choose is too long?

If the brake cable is too long, you can cut it yourself. Use your old cable as a guide for length. Be sure to make a clean cut because any compression at the end of the cable will reduce performance.

Is the cable all I need or should I buy cable housing?

If you are simply replacing a broken cable, you won't need the housing. But if you'd like to upgrade your brake system, or if your housing is bent or damaged, you may want to opt for a full kit that includes housing.
