Most tablecloths are made for rectangular or square tables. Then you have round tablecloths, which are far from anything like its more conservative counterparts. These types of tablecloths are best suited for formal events such as weddings, banquets, corporate meetings and any other organized occasions. But there's more to a round tablecloth than finding the appropriate occasions for its use. Here are few quick tips so your event goes off without a hitch.

Size up your table

Before you start filling your cart up with different prints and colors, the first thing you want to do is a grab a measuring tape and measure across the top of your table. Unlike rectangular or square tables, you only need to measure the length, which will determine how much of the table gets covered. That said, you have a little wiggle room to be creative with height, just like buying a pair of curtains. You can go short for a crisp, clean look, or tall for something more extravagant.

Prints and colors

With so many colors and prints to choose from, settling on one tablecloth style can be difficult. The trick to finding the right one for the occasion is to figure out if you want the tablecloth to coordinate with the rest of the setting, or if you want it to contrast and stand out as an accent piece. Whatever print or color you decide on should in some way complement the tableware. Whether that is slightly or completely is a matter of preference, but keeping the colors and prints to a minimum will not only allow for a polished appearance, it will also make organizing and coordinating easier.
