I think this would work. It has the Zoodles program on it, but you don't have to use that. This is a tablet that is just like having a Smart Phone without the voice/phone/cell service. It is like having a laptop, but has the Android operating system instead of Windows or Apple. I would say this would be good for her, you could load it with games and apps that are more age-appropriate (download the Amazon store app and get a bunch of free apps--online customer service was helpful by sending a link to get the Amazon store...this tablet comes with something called AppMall, but I was unimpressed with the selection and usability of the program).

I bought this for my 8year old son. He loves it, and my 11 year old is jealous. They both love the fun games, but it also is an e reader and it has art apps too. The neat thing is that it asks the child's age and suggests apps for that maturity. I was disappointed that it isn't very sturdy. It cracked easily, so you'll need to add a protector to your order, which can be expensive. Hope this helps.

My opinion is that she would like it. My grown daughter and I have used this tablet and it has some games that would be older and you can download other games as well. The tabs at the top seem more like a computer browser so you can chose to use games, ebooks, drawing, etc. to work with. Since it is an Android Operating System, it is more like the smart phones. We have enjoyed just playing the games ourselves.

This us a horrible tablet that freezes up and touchscreen doesn't work. My children are absolutely frustrated with it, so they never use it. So thay have learned nothing but sadness and disappointment because it doesn't work. :(
