THe 5 year old will fit in the bed, but there won't be a lot of room to move around. I'd move up to a twin sized bed.

Depends on height. My 5 y/o is 47", 60 lbs and sleeps in it just fine. It won't last long at that age though you would be better off getting a twin.

I would think they will grow out of this bed too fast,go for a twin size because in a year you will probably be upgrading anyways, save your money and go bigger

I may be wrong but I think the weight limit is 50lbs. And my two yr old fits in it now with only a couple inches to spare. Your 5 yr old may be too tall since this uses a crib size mattress not a twin.
