THe 5 year old will fit in the bed, but there won't be a lot of room to move around. I'd move up to a twin sized bed.

Depends on height. My 5 y/o is 47", 60 lbs and sleeps in it just fine. It won't last long at that age though you would be better off getting a twin.

No i think its too small. My 2 year old loves it but i can see when he hits age 5 needing to change the bed for a bigger one.

I would think they will grow out of this bed too fast,go for a twin size because in a year you will probably be upgrading anyways, save your money and go bigger
