This won't spin as fast as the Chinese brands because the spin mechanism is larger. Not a deal breaker. The plastic is thicker and it should last longer, and it is made in Germany.

Know that you will have to use your hand muscles to crush the ice cubes - no simple button push. Then again no electric cord in to untangle, plug-in, unplug, and put away again - more time to enjoy the reason you crushed the ice. The lack of mechanical screeching when running is likewise important to me.
